Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): A Natural Approach to Pain Relief and Healing

At Weiss Wellness + Beauty, we harness the regenerative power of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to support your body’s natural ability to heal and repair. By using your own blood’s platelets, PRP therapy promotes tissue regeneration, reduces pain, and improves overall function. This cutting-edge treatment offers a minimally invasive solution for a range of conditions, helping you get back to living life without discomfort.

Purpose of PRP Therapy

  • Treat Pain and Promote Healing: Stimulates tissue repair and alleviates discomfort by harnessing your body’s innate healing mechanisms.

Key Benefits

  1. Tissue Regeneration
PRP therapy accelerates the repair process by delivering growth factors directly to damaged tissues, encouraging cell renewal and healing.
  2. Pain Reduction
By targeting the underlying causes of pain, PRP provides lasting relief for chronic conditions and injuries.
  3. Personalized and Natural
PRP is derived from your own blood, making it a safe and biocompatible treatment option.
  4. Minimally Invasive
Avoids surgery and reduces downtime, allowing you to recover quickly and effectively.

How Does PRP Therapy Work?

The process begins with a simple blood draw. Your blood is then placed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets and growth factors, resulting in a highly concentrated plasma. This platelet-rich plasma is carefully injected into the affected area using advanced imaging guidance to ensure precision and efficacy.

Conditions Treated with PRP Therapy

PRP is versatile and effective for addressing various issues, including:

  • Chronic Joint Pain: Arthritis, knee pain, and other degenerative conditions.
  • Tendon Injuries: Tennis elbow, Achilles tendonitis, or rotator cuff injuries.
  • Muscle Strains: Promotes healing in strained or torn muscles.
  • Ligament Sprains: Accelerates recovery from sprains or soft tissue injuries.

What to Expect During and After Treatment

  • During the Procedure: PRP injections are relatively quick, with most sessions lasting about an hour. The procedure involves minimal discomfort due to the use of local anesthesia.
  • After the Procedure: You may experience mild swelling or soreness at the injection site, which typically subsides within a few days. Recovery time varies, but most patients can return to normal activities shortly after treatment.

I recently went to Weiss Wellness & Beauty for a series of PRP facials and it has been the most incredible experience. I was blown away by Patricia, their esthetician who was so knowledgeable, and kind. Their space is stunning, conveniently located, and CLEAN. Most importantly my skin has never looked better!!

I’ve been working closely with Dr. Elise Weiss for over 10 years now. It’s amazing how quickly our personal training clients get healthy or through an injury when the pair smart training with Dr. Weiss’ treatments and recommendations. She’s cutting edge on sports medicine treatments and always takes the most gentle and non-invasive approach possible. She helps patients avoid surgeries in many cases. I’ve experienced her treatments first-hand as an athlete myself with PRP, trigger point shots, and shock wave therapy. My injuries improved so much faster and I was able to get back to triathlons and lifting in the gym.

I saw Dr. weiss in April because of a swollen knee, joint locking, unable to kneel comfortably and even trouble walking. 1 treatment, recommended herbal supplements and 3 months later I am a certified yoga instructor. Doing tree pose on both knees. Supervised yoga was my PT. ( A yoga teacher/ dancer recommended Dr. Weiss.) But none of that would have been possible without Dr. Weiss’ initial treatment. Oh and I am 61 years old.
Much thanks.

Amazing. Can’t believe how wonderful this place is. They offer so many forms of treatment. No need to run around the city when you’re injured. Staff is fantastic. Can’t recommend them enough.
