Dr. Weiss is out of network with all insurance companies including medicare. Being out of network does not mean that your insurance plan will not cover your care. There are many variations between plans and it is best to call and provide your insurance information so that our office can assess the details and specifics of your coverage. We will then contact you to review your policy coverage with you.
Following any injection procedure, you may experience temporary soreness at the injection site and/or numbness in the upper or lower extremities for several hours. A mild to moderate increase in pain may occur.
Apply ice to the injection site for any soreness or discomfort.
Resume taking medications after the procedure unless instructed otherwise.
Physical therapy can typically resume 24 hours post-procedure unless significant pain is present.
Avoid vigorous exercise until your follow-up appointment.
Monitor the degree, duration, and location of pain relief and report any increased pain, swelling, redness at the injection site, or fever to the office immediately.
Refrain from activity for 72 hours.
Temporary side effects may include stomach upset, insomnia, facial flushing, and irritability. Some women may experience menstrual cycle irregularities.
Report any unexpected symptoms to the office.
Improvement from the injections may take up to a week.
Do not use NSAIDs post-procedure. The duration of this restriction varies based on the treatment and can range from days to weeks. This includes Voltaren (Diclofenac), Mobic (Meloxicam), Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Naproxen.
Acetaminophen/Tylenol is acceptable as needed.
Restrict activity for two weeks following the injection unless instructed otherwise.
Refrain from activity for 72 hours.
Most injections take only 5 to 10 minutes to perform using state-of-the-art ultrasound guidance. Patients can usually return to work immediately post-procedure.
Eat or drink on the day of your treatment.
Inform our office if you are systemically ill to assess the safety of your procedure.
Discontinue use of NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) five days prior to the procedure.
